MACHU PICCHU FUE DECLARADA UNA DE LAS SIETE NUEVAS MARAVILLAS DEL MUNDO MODERNO

Una fiesta se desató en el Perú cuando La Fun- dación New Seven Wonders creada por el Suizo Bernard Weber declaró a la ciudadela inca de Machu Picchu como una de las siete nuevas maravillas del mundo moderno por encarnar el espíritu de comunidad y la dedicación.

Las 7 nuevas maravillas del mundo moderno son: la Gran Murralla (China), la ciudad de Petra (Jordania), el Cristo Redentor (Brasil), la ciudadela de Machu Picchu (Perú), la pirámide de Chichón Itza (México), el coliseo de Roma (Italia) y el Taj Mahal (India).

La ceremonia de premiación fue realizada en el estadio Da Luz en Lisboa, Portugal. Un multimillonario evento que contó con la participación de artistas como Jennifer López, Joaquín Cortes, José Carreras y delegaciones oficiales de los cinco continentes.

El concurso que se inicio a principios de este año presento una lista 21 monumentos. Los cuales se pusieron a votación vía Internet o telefónica. Al finalizar el certamen se alcanzo a asombrosa cifra de cien millones de votos.

Una fiesta se vivió en el Cusco. Las principales calles y plazas de la ciudad, vivieron un ambiente festivo, que se demostró con comparsas y pasacalles de conjuntos folclóricos, hicieron bailar y cantar a la población.

El polaco Ryszard Kapuscinski fue el invitado de lujo de la Fundación del Nuevo Periodismo que preside Gabriel García Márquez. En el 2001, el periodista presentó en México su libro los cinco sentidos del periodista (estar, ver, oír, compartir, pensar). Luego se trasladó a Colombia donde ofreció un taller de cuatro días a un grupo de periodistas latinoamericanos. Aclamado por sus colegas es considerado como uno de los mejores escritores del mundo. El corresponsal de Dios fue un acérrimo defensor del arte de escribir. Concluimos con una frase suya: “Solo un texto nos puede hacer reflexionar”.
